The Thule brand began in 1942 with the production of products for local fishermen. One thing led to another and around 10 years later Thule began with the production of automotive related products. The first product for cars was the grill to protect the headlights against pebbles. Subsequently, Thule began to focus more on products for cars. At the beginning of the 60's, the first ski rack appeared on the market. In the following years, they produced roof racks, ski and bike carriers. Today, Thule has become the most famous brand of roof boxes and snow chains. And that's obviously for a good reason. From 2017 onwards, Thule will be changing the brand name that it sells its snow chains under, to König. König snow chains are made to the same top notch quality that Thule is known for, and the company still makes use of their renowned innovative techniques: same brilliant snow chains, just a different name!
